Facies, mineral, palaeoenvironmental and sequence stratigraphic analysisclay Cenomanian series are studied in the Kasserine-Tamesmida area. A type section is proposed from Jebel Chambi. The chronostratigraphy is set up according to microfaunal assemblages. Detailed sedimentologic analysis and interpretation are made to main facies as well as to clay minerals, while lateral distribution of thicknesses and facies is deduced both from outcrop and well data. Paleoenvironmental evolution and paleogeographic setting are then performed. Three depositional sequences are finally defined, which correlate with the global Chart (HAQ et al., 1988). bibliogr.
