" In wells of the tunisian Djeffara (south Tunisia)a paleozoic sequence ranging from Silurian (Gothlandian)to Permian has been recognized (Furon, 1964). This sequence can be correlated with outcroping in the Libyan Fezzan, the type localities of the formations (Desio, 1936: Sacal, 1963: Burollet, 1967: Klizsch, 1969). The authors deals with he cores of Ech Choueb N°2 well (EC-2: lat. 31°02'28"" N: long. 9°28'09"" E)from 3,460 to 3,485 meters, wihich is part of the Uan Caza Formation of Lower Devonian (Emsian)age.To frame the environment deposition of the Uan Caza Formation, one has to start with the Siegenian, during which time a new depositional cycle was initiated. The new cycle followed the regressive marine sandstones of the Acacus Formation with ... ???"
