" De nombreuses coupes levées dans plusieurs affleurements du Béjaoua oriental, attribués jusqu'ici au Miocène inf., sous des faciès qui rappellent le ""faciès du Béjaoua"" de Ch. Gottis P. Sainfeld, et qui concernent uniquement l'unité tectonique inférieure (ou ""autochtone du Sillon tunisien"" de H. Rouvier), étayées par de nombreuses déterminations de microfaunes (J.S.), révèlent qu'il s'agit en fait d'Oligocène sup. à Miogypsinoides complanata et de Miocène (Aquitanien, Burdigalien, Karpatien, Langhien et Serravallien). Les couches marines du Miocène atteignent la zone à Globorotalia (Globirotalia)fohsi du Serravallien sup."
