A convention between the regional council of Tataouine and the NOM led to the launching of the “Mémoire de la Terre” museum (memory of the earth), which gathers the most known fossils of the region. This museum, which was opened in 2000, demonstrates the necessity of launching similar projects in other regions so as to impress the public, instruct and answer the visitors that are interested in the knowledge of natural patrimony progress.
