Catalogue reference : T.XXII, N°3-4 (FRA) Géol. méditerr. T.XXII, N°3-4 Mécanisme d'ouverture des bassins récents liés au système décrochant de Sbiba-Chérichira (Tunisie centrale). Opening mechanisms of recent basins linked to the Sbiba-Cherichira (central Tunisia) strike-slip system). In central Tunisia, the lacustrine basins were opened and arranged following a compressional overstep pattern between the E-W strike-slip faults of Sbiba and Cherichira. This pattern has enabled the sedimentation of lacustrine limestone during and after Miocene folding phase. At the beginning of the Pleistocene, several NE-SW folds and NW-SE grabens associated to E-W and N-S strike-slip faults were formed under NW-SE drainage of Marguelli river and enabled installation of Quaternary lacustrine basins. bibliogr.
