Vol.5 (GBR) Tert. res. Vol.5 Teleost hyperostoses Les hyperostoses de teleosteen : un cas de problematica du Miocène de Tunisie. A case of miocene problematica from Tunisia. The Sepia reported from an upper Burdigalian beach sandstone in the Ain Grab Formation of Tunisia, are swollen teleost bones (hyperostoses). They include 'fruit' and 'foot-shaped' forms containing up to 14 annual growth rings. Their declining growth rate implies they were not malignant neoplasms. The 'fruit-shaped' forms resemble Caranx sp. from California. bibliogr. pathologie ; osteichthyes ; teleostei ; gisement fossilifère ; Burdigalien ; hyperostose ; Formation Ain GHrab ; Tunisie ; Guelta Hewitt Roger A. paleontologie
